Welcome to the Future!
Greetings and welcome to 2010. All of us at YasTech would like to wish you and your business a happy, prosperous New Year!
Like many of you, we really enjoyed watching the World Junior Hockey Championship over the holidays. We were able to get a little closer to the action through covering the tournament for our event listing website, Juniors2010.ca. But you can read more about that on our blog here: http://bit.ly/juniors2010
We've got lots of exciting things planned at YasTech for 2010 and look forward to being able to serve you in the year ahead.
back to top Email Is Dead! Long Live Email!
One thing that we started back in September is this email newsletter that you're reading right now.
This is our fifth email newsletter we've sent out, so we thought it was time to share some benefits we've seen from doing email newsletter marketing:
- Stats: I love statistics. If you don't have any meaningful stats from your marketing efforts, how do you know if it's working? We can tell how many of you are reading this (around 40%), how often a link is clicked (around 25%). Very useful information in determining what's working and what isn't.
- Cost and Timing: Email is the cheapest way to communicate with your customers. No printers to un-jam, paper to fold, envelopes & stamps to lick and cold trips to the post office. Plus, if you want to send out a note about the special you're having RIGHT NOW, you can!
- Communication: It's incredibly important to be communicating with your customers. Not obnoxious, spammy, loud and annoying communication but honest communication that is true to your company's message and focus.
We try to write about things we think you'll find interesting about the tech/web industry. We want to be the web experts that you turn to if you have questions about websites, video production, and social media.
We get these benefits by using custom software to send out our email newsletters at a fraction of the cost it would be to send out traditional paper-based marketing. We'd love to show you how it works and help you reach your current and potential customers in a more meaningful way.

back to top Coming Up in 2010
Here are a few of our crystal ball predictions for 2010:
- Social Media Will Continue to Explode:
Facebook and Twitter are just getting started. It's not too late to get involved in this conversation!
- Great Content Will be King:
The days of throwing a bunch of links on a webpage and waiting for the money to roll in are long over. Time to roll up your sleeves and think before you post!
- Video On Websites Is Growing:
Zappos, an online shoe retailer, recently revealed that by adding video demos of products, they increased sales by 6% - 30%. And that's using their own employees, not actors or spokespersons. They're hoping to have 50,000 videos next year!
- Chris Will Finally Get an iPhone:
See this blog post for more information. (Blaine will believe it when he sees it)
Do you have any predictions for 2010, tech or otherwise? Send us an email and we'll feature it in an upcoming blog post!
