back to top Importance of Keeping Website Content Fresh
Would you let the shelves in your store get dusty? Do you leave your office light bulb burnt out? Well then why would you let your website go stale?
Keeping your website current is just as important as keeping your store or office in tip top shape. On average a small business website will receive 300 visitors a month (some more, some less depending on their marketing strategy). That’s 300 existing or potential clients you need to impress!
Reasons to keep your website updated:
- Receive a higher placement in search results. Higher rank means more traffic.
- Compelling content gives visitors a reason to visit and return to your site.
- Returning visitors expect new content. No new content may relay the wrong impression, not just about your website but also about your business.
- You can save money and time on printing and distributing pamphlets to tell the world of any changes that have occurred in your business.
How can I keep my website fresh?
- A blog that that has both product & corporate news topics (include photos and/or videos)
- News and announcements. Short one liners of news items and what your company is up to.
- Having a how-to/tutorial page related to your products or services
- Tools & resources section with links that get updated on a weekly/monthly basis
- A list of current projects your business is working on
- Updating your products or services page with new information
By keeping your website content fresh, you will increase your search engine ranking, give visitors a reason to return, provide visitors with a sense of company growth, and best of all, increase your bottom-line.
Until next time, “If it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right!"
