Website Stats and Analytics

As I mentioned in the previous newsletter, I love numbers and stats. And if you've got a website, there's no greater way to indulge that craving than pooring over the reports from the site analytics software used to track how many visitors you've had to your website.

The information you get from website analytics is very valuable in determining what type of content visitors are finding most important, if people are getting to the information you want them to, or if they visit your site and quickly leave.

For example, you can find out:

  • How many visitors you've had
  • The average number of website pages that are viewed per visitor
  • The average time people are spending on your website
  • How people found your website (i.e. search engine like Google, directly typing it in, or from another website that links to yours)

Why this information is important, besides the obvious reason of knowing if people are visiting your website, is that it gives you the ability to better tailor the content on your website for your visitors. If a lot of people are finding your website by searching for "peppermint mocha" and then leaving the website because all your website has is "vanilla mocha" - you might want to update your inventory and website.

In the coming months we'll be offering a free seminar on the hows/whats/whys of website stats - send us an email if you're interested in attending and we'd be happy to let you know when our free seminar is taking place.

Client Success Stories

We thought we'd highlight a few successes that our clients are having with their websites that might spark an idea for something you might want done on your site:

  • Using Video: J&H Builders recently added a video to their website demoing how easy it is to install a new brand of laminate flooring. Video is a great way to show things like this that are hard to demonstrate in pictures or text.
  • Email Newsletter: Studio 2.0 has been doing email newsletters for awhile, but recently added our stats package to their newsletter. Now they're able to tell how many subscribers opened the newsletter and what links they clicked on. A great tool to help determine what they should focus on for their next newsletter.
  • Online Booking: Salon Fuzion makes use of online booking software from 24hrAssistant integrated into their website by YasTech to help them save time maintaining client scheduling requests.

These are just a few of the success stories our clients are having with their online marketing. What about you Chris? Get in touch with us if you have any questions about how we could help you do a better job of marketing online.
