Welcome to Spring (sort of?)
It's almost the end of March and we're just getting our March newsletter to your inbox. Not to offer much in the way of excuses for the delayed newsletter, but our newsletter writer's wife had a baby.

back to top Quick Ideas For You to Run With
Since we're running out of time this month, we thought we'd give you a bunch of ideas of how you could utilize your website better. Contact us if you're inspired or have a question about what we're talking about!
- Sign up for a Twitter account. Follow a bunch of local people. Send out tweets about weekly specials. Run a giveaway contest where everyone who follows you gets entered.
- Are you an expert in an industry? Let people submit questions to you and answer them in video/audio/blog form. Give away enough info to show that you know what you're talking about without telling them every detail (kind of like this email newsletter).
- Time for a fresh coat of paint? If it's been a year or two since you updated the look of your website, now might be the time.
- Want people to sign up for a newsletter? Follow you on Facebook? Submit a quote request? Add a specific call to action. Tell them how.
- Make better use of headings, sub-headings and lists to call appropriate attention to your content. You can't make everything bold, ALL-CAPITALS and bright yellow.
- Use real photos instead of stock photos. But hire a professional photographer to take the photos.
- Include your website address (and phone number, mail address) in your email signature. How are people going to find you if you don't tell them?
Whatever you do, it's important to know whether the changes you made were successful. Knowing how many visitors you had to a web page before you added a call to action and how many afterwards is key.
And that's where website analytics come in. As we mentioned last month, we're going to be hosting a free seminar on the hows/whats/whys of website stats in April, 2010. Send us an email if you're interested in attending and we'll send you the specifics.
